Lincoln Aviator Answers

Which Lincoln Aviator Trims Have Massage Seats?

Lincoln Aviator Black Label has them as standard equipment. Aviator Reserve can be ordered with them in the Luxury Package. Aviator Premiere does not offer them at any price.

The Short Answer

Massage Seats by Aviator Trim

Massage in the Lincoln Aviator is not sold on its own. It arrives as part of the 30-way Perfect Position front seat, which Lincoln describes as 30-way adjustability plus Active Motion massage. So the real question is which trims can get the Perfect Position seat, and the answer is two of the three.

Trim Standard front seats Massage How you get it
Aviator Premiere Comfort front seats, 10-way driver and 8-way passenger, power lumbar, driver-side memory Not offered No package adds it
Aviator Reserve Premium leather seating surfaces, 10-way driver and 8-way passenger Available Luxury Package, which adds the 30-way Perfect Position front seats with Active Motion massage and the 28-speaker Revel Ultima 3D Audio System
Lincoln Aviator Black Label 30-way Perfect Position front seats, auto heated and ventilated Standard Included, nothing to add

One thing worth saying out loud before you shop: massage is a first-row feature. No Aviator gives it to the second-row captain's chairs or the third row, on any trim. If the person you are buying this for sits behind you, the seat you want is the one they are not in.

You can see the current lineup on our Lincoln Aviator research page, and what is on the ground in new Aviator inventory. Equipment varies vehicle to vehicle, so call us at 931-632-4844 and we will read the sticker to you before you drive over.

What You Are Actually Buying

Active Motion Massage Is One Feature of a Larger Seat

The Perfect Position seat is the reason the Aviator's front row feels different from a normal power seat. Thirty separate adjustments, including independent thigh extenders for each leg and head restraint articulation. Active Motion massage works through that same frame.

What the 30-way seat adds beyond massage

  • Independent left and right thigh extenders, which is the adjustment most drivers do not know they wanted until a long drive.
  • Head restraint articulation, so the restraint moves toward you rather than pushing your head forward.
  • Heating and ventilation that work alongside the massage rather than instead of it.
  • Memory settings, so two drivers do not have to renegotiate the seat every morning.

Who it earns its keep for

If your driving is a few miles across Clarksville and back, the standard Comfort seat in the Premiere is a good seat and you will not miss what you did not buy. The Perfect Position seat earns its place on the longer runs: the 45 minutes down I-24 to Nashville, the drive to Fort Campbell and back in the same day, the road trip where you are the only driver.

The honest test is simple. Sit in both. We will set a Reserve and a Lincoln Aviator Black Label side by side and let you spend ten minutes in each, which tells you more than any spec sheet. Book a time and we will have them ready.

How to Tell Whether the Aviator in Front of You Has It

Two Aviator Reserves parked next to each other can differ on this, because the Luxury Package is an option rather than a trim. Three ways to settle it in under a minute.

  • Look at the seat controls on the door. A Perfect Position seat carries more switchgear than a 10-way seat, including the thigh extender controls.
  • Open the seat menu on the 13.2-inch touchscreen. If Active Motion massage is fitted, it has its own controls with intensity settings.
  • Read the window sticker. The Luxury Package is listed by name, and it brings the 28-speaker Revel Ultima 3D Audio System with it, so the audio badge is a useful tell.

Or skip all three and ask us. Our team can check equipment on a specific vehicle before you make the drive, which is the whole point of calling ahead.

Questions We Get Asked

Aviator Seating Questions

Does the Lincoln Aviator have massage seats?

Yes, on two of its three trims. Lincoln Aviator Black Label includes the 30-way Perfect Position front seats with Active Motion massage as standard. Aviator Reserve can be ordered with them in the Luxury Package. Aviator Premiere does not offer massage seats.

Do Lincoln Aviator massage seats come standard on the Reserve?

No. The Reserve comes with premium leather seating and a 10-way driver seat as standard. Massage arrives with the Luxury Package, which swaps in the 30-way Perfect Position front seats with Active Motion massage and adds the 28-speaker Revel Ultima 3D Audio System.

Does the Aviator Premiere have massage seats?

No. The Premiere's front seats are 10-way for the driver and 8-way for the passenger, with power lumbar and driver-side memory. No Premiere package adds the Perfect Position seat, so massage is not available on that trim.

Are the Aviator's rear seats massaging?

No. Active Motion massage in the Aviator is a first-row feature on every trim that offers it. The second-row captain's chairs and the third row can be heated on the right build, but they do not massage.

What is Active Motion massage in a Lincoln?

It is Lincoln's name for the massage function built into the Perfect Position front seat. The same seat gives you 30 separate adjustments, including independent thigh extenders and head restraint articulation, and it works alongside seat heating and ventilation.

How can I tell if a used or in-stock Aviator has massage seats?

Check the door-mounted seat controls for thigh extender switches, open the seat menu on the 13.2-inch touchscreen, or read the window sticker for the Luxury Package. Easier still, call us at 931-632-4844 and we will check the specific vehicle for you.

Can I try the Perfect Position seats before I buy?

Yes, and we would rather you did. Contact us ahead of your visit and we will line up an Aviator with the Perfect Position seat next to one without it, so you can sit in both and decide whether the difference is worth it to you.
